Thought I'd post this on here as the TVR section is where I spend the most time. wink

I know we all get lot of requests for donations but I don't think I've asked on Pistonheads before (which is amazing seeing as I've been here for 10 years) and it's all for a good cause.

I've decided to run one the Bobby Moore Fund/Cancer Research Run10k events at Blenheim Palace on 26th September.

I'm doing it primarily to get fit (again) and shift some weight and being a bit lazy and getting older I reckon signing-up for an event is the only way to compel myself to put in the training. Plus, if there's a few quid to made for a worthwhile cause I'll have to do it. redface

Not looking for a big number just the odd pound or two to bolster the final sum. Just think, you'll be doing the charity a favour and committing me run 3 or 4 times a week between now and the end of September!

Thanks guys & girls

So, 3.5 miles on Tuesday and 4.0 miles yesterday, just about killed me! redface My wife has offered to buy me dinner (and pay) at a restaurant of my choice if I beat 60 mins - so that's a nice curry then - and that works out to 9.5 min miles and that's going to be vey hard. Yesterday I managed 10:15's for the first two miles then I dipped out and had to walk for 5 or 6 mins which messed up the third but I managed to run the last mile in 11 mins.

I reckon there's a lot more training required for this one - and all I've lost so far is a bloody 1kg! Boo...

Oh and I'm up to £155 on my donations page - thanks everyone!

Right chaps tomorrow's the day - 10k/6.2 miles round the grounds of Blenheim Palace and I want your money smile Well just a little bit in fact, less than the price of a pint of bitter. When I set up my Justgiving page www.justgiving.co.uk/greenbear1 I set myself a target of £250 but in fact I've reached £295.60 so wouldn't it be nice to reach £300 yes so I want a few quid more.

So all the training's done and I'm sitting down watching TV but as West Ham (my other passion aside from TVRs) won today I'm getting ready to watch Match of The Day without a glass of claret rolleyes and that's got to be worth a few quid in sponsorship without the run...

So take a look at my page and see if you can help. I know it will be appreciated by me and my chosen charity, the Bobby Cancer Fund.

Thanks Chaps and Chapesses. beer Rich...

Done, good luck, just think that it's not 10k but just over 6 miles a breeze to a superbly honed athlete .... but for you there will be pain! wink

And indeed there was, not least I thought Blenheim Palace would be reasonably flat but somehow they managed to route us up and down just about every hill in the grounds! Still I did it in just over an hour and raised over £300 for the Bobby Moore men's cancer research fund into the bargain. So thanks everyone, good stuff all round. Now for a beer
