Hi all
Im trying to work out now I can remove the kidney grills on my 635d, I've been at it for a while now, all I've achieved is to swear a lot. Anyone have any hints on how to remove the clips?

Thanks

James.

Try this http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=...

It's a US forum but there are a lot of 6er owners on there.

Are you changing the grills or just removing/replacing them? I've toyed with losing the chrome from mine but as the car is a dark blue there isn't an obvious colur to go for.
Thought about a dark grey, or black (to match the window surrounds.) But really not sure!

Im changing them to some matt black ones. I saw a 6 identical to mine with the matt grills on and looks very aggressive. My efforts were rained off earlier, good thing too cause i was starting to get in a rage with it... really didn't want to force them out cause of keeping the old ones.

I recon black would look good on dark blue for yours.

The knack seems to be to do the bottom two clips first followed by the top two.

I might try and pick up some spares to get painted up in a gloss black. Are you doing the wing chrome bits too?

Found a new link on M5board http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e63-bmw-m6-forum-...

Once the screws on the top were removed I could get at the top clips, once they were all out the bottom ones were much easier to prize out, heres the finished article.. its getting dark outside too so the pics aren't great

That's my main concern. I do quite like that though, maybe its the inner Barry showing itself?! Jimmy, have you painted your wheels darker too?

I was unsure but now there starting to grow on me too, I have the old grills just incase..

It goes look better in the flesh/metal, the photos weren't very good.

The wheels are standard mate, seem to have a dark shade to them
