I’m thinking about applying some vinyl to a sports racer (a Radical Clubsport).

I’ve never applied vinyl before and I’m wondering if it’s a practical DIY proposition.

The kind of thing I have in mind is to apply fairly large areas of solid plain colour vinyl in a design something like this:-

This next pic shows a similar type of car having large swathes of vinyl being applied and (I assume) being cut in-situ.

I’ve tried a few vids on YouTube but can’t find any that deal with applying large areas cut in-situ, on this sort of vehicle. So, a few questions:-

What type vinyl sheet should I use and where can I buy? (I’m Hampshire based)
How do I cut the vinyl in-situ without damaging the underlying bodywork?
If I want to cut sweeping curves (to complement the curves in the bodywork) how can I achieve smooth, flowing lines?
Can large areas by covered with overlapping sheets?
Are there any tricks to avoid trapped air bubbles when applying large areas of vinyl?
Are any special tools needed?
Any other tricks?

Any advice gratefully received smile

Cheers - Laurence

PS - I think maybe this might be a bit ambitious for my first attempt wink
