Well, after about 10 years without a 'real' camera (last was an Olympus OM101) I've finally taken the plunge and got myself a Canon EOS 550D with 18-55 IS and 55-250 IS lenses at a very good price.

I'm going to be using it 90% of the time for taking pictures of cars (surprise, surprise), 25% of that will be cars in motion, either stills or movie.

Any hints, tips, recommendations welcome, as is any feedback regarding any quirks with this camera.

Now I've got to try and remember how to drive a camera manually for those 'creative' situations!

Buy a polarser, learn the buttons, shoot raw and learn how to process.

This is the best thing to do.

There is nothing better than just getting to grips with what works and what doesn't. Practice makes perfect as they say, at least that's what I tell the misses smile.

I'm getting UV and polarising filters tomorrow. Going to Goodwood breakfast club on Sunday. I think I'll just use full auto for this one so I can gauge the limitations and work from there in future! smile
