Drivers door lock, help?

Hi guys,

Has any one ever had the drivers side door lock on an 02 plate m3 not work?

Went to open the car today and the drivers side won't open with out the key? it locks OK with the fob. But opening it on the drivers side does not work.

Going to strip it down tomorrow and have a look, any ideas?

have you tried the spare key ? had a fault with my key.

Hi Guys,

Any others ideas on the door locking problem? My spare key does exactly the same.

Passenger side works fine, but drivers side needs the key to open it only. (locks with the fob)

Also noticed that the doors have started locking themselves again when driving well the passenger side does. I had this removed from the system last time the car was in at BMW.

I think it could be a fault with the drivers side lock itself,

Any Ideas?

Just to report back,

It was the lock it self that was at fault as I had suspected. Saved about £150 fitting it myself.

Takes about 45 mins but is fairly straight forward,
