Hi all!

Been driving just over a year now crash free. thumbup My car at the moment is a 1.1 106. Looking at changing it for something newer and more refined but still cheap to insure. been looking at 1.4 polo's, corsa's, ford fiesta's ect.

Any recommendations? I will be doing a lot of motorway miles and looking at a budget of around 2.5 to 3k

cheers left to right

Have a look at Focuses (Foci?). A 1.6 won't be much more to insure than a Fiesta, and they're a pretty nice drive. I've just upgraded from a MK4 Fiesta to a 2.0 Focus.

A Focus Saloon is cheaper to insure than the equivalent hatchback, apparently..

Hi left to right,

Have you considered something a bit bigger? Some new drivers seem to get away with fairly powerful Volvos and such as they are generally considered to be low risk cars.

If I could have my time again, I would get a bigger car sooner than I did.

It would be worth getting some insurance quotes on the comparison sites to give you an idea of what you could get away with.

Good luck!
