Hi Guys,

I bought my chassis and joined the forum 18 months ago but at short notice ended up living in Dubai (work). Unfortunately I cannot remember my login so have a new name but remember visiting a guy with both a GTR and Can Am to see if my lardy arse would fit and had lots of guidance from another really helpful guy but can't remember his name either (Kyle ??)

Anyhow, now I am back, I am going to start the build - it will take time due to financial considerations (just starting divorce) but will get done bit by bit. I have searched the forum and read as much as I can but ...... could not find an answer to the following :

Has anyone fitted a "flappy paddle" gearbox ? Is it even possible with the LS / Porsche configuration. ?

I am in Telford Shropshire so if anyone is nearby I would be pleased to meet up, grab a coffee on me and ask loads of dim newbie questions to plan what I am doing. Steve from autobionics has been golden and has offered to do any bits I can't (which will be engine / box, mapping etc and dash build)

I have rerad a couple of dash threads but would be grateful if people could post dash pictures here for me to check out - I love the exterior but don't much like the interior - it is bang on for it's purpose but I would like something a little more sophisticated.

Cheers

Andy

After many more hours of searching I think I have found the answer "NO", unless huge quantities of cash are involved.

On the dash threads, there were discussions around making a wrap round dash and console, did this go anywhere ? Can you buy different dashes or are they all bespoke like the tasty autobionics ones ? Any help anyone ?

There are no dash alternatives on sale anywhere that I know of. There are a few different dash-top pods for different instrument choices.
The dash you are looking for will have to be your own design. You would probably want it that way in any case as someone else's design may not appeal to you.

If you do a centre console be aware that it will have to taper to nothing down at your feet as there is not much room down there even without a console.

There was a flappy paddle v10 bmw one I think.

Very expensive exercise, besides that, it's a drivers car...so fit a drivers gearbox..

Yes I will do - tiptronic is very obviously not an option so will use Autobionics centre mounted cable system.
