on cleaning the oven earlier I noticed the door glass wasn't secured properly. after tinkering with it, it is definitely not secured properly! hehe

I have googled for a suitable heat resistant sealant/adhesive but I am stuck with what either b&q or screwfix can sell me as I have a roast to cook tomorrow evening.

I have seen flue sealant which says it'll stick most non porous surfaces and works to 300 degC. then there's fire retardant building sealant but i doubt that will work as it says it turns to foam above 200deg. lastly, evostick's 'sticks like st' smile works to 100degC.

which should I use or is it better to wait until I can get the correct stuff?

When you say not properly secured what does that mean as most glass oven doors are designed to be removed to be cleaned .A pic or two would be helpful smile

When I had the same problem I used the highest temperature silicone instant gasket available -rated for 300 Celcius if I remember. Make sure you clean off all the old adhesive and degrease it thoroughly. Mine is still well stuck!

its a range with one 90cm wide door. this is held by 3 screws at the top and a bead of silicon all around. I caused all the silicon to fail so had to remove the glass in case it cracked.

I am going with flue sealant, rated to 300deg. I looked at loctite in the industrial catalogue at work but its 90quid a pot!
