I rang Quaife and they gave me the name of the UK supplier, as they don't sell them direct. I had 2 pairs out of a batch of 10 last year and they were around £750 each (pair)

You'll have to give Quaife a ring as I can't find the details, very nice quality as you'd expect.

Paul.

Are they cheaper than £750 a pair?

That is what I had with the full power LS6 (245/45/16), but a nice sensible road tyre (not track day stuff).

Too big I'd say but then I have to go with a 225/60x15 on my Silly power Griff (well over 100bhp up on the LS6).

Too much grip is boring. Get it sideways..... smile

"John bought his off Steve R, he's not to keen on US purchases either.." I bet he ain't! Cheaper and just as good.

Mine are not these as my car is a Griff and uses different uprights and hubs. But have raced TR's for 20 years and know them very well (these are TR hubs in a TVR upright).

They is nothing wrong with the US stuff. UK dealers just have to put huge mark-ups on, or do as they can get away with it.

Heads up guys! First off this stuff is TR so you first call should be TR people. I hate paying through the nose and find the best parts at the best prices, this usually ends up coning from the US. Welded up er NO! They look like the identical to me to Mr Reids wink Most likely are!!!

I'm sure we'll get some come back from someone flogging them in the Uk Poo Pooing this but that is just sour grapes.

Mine did come from the US and the made from Corvette spindles and special casing, (Think well noth of £2k wink current fia spec).

I know how much TR dealers charge as well, just on or over a grand for a pair. (Bought a set long before the Goodparts one were around in 2000 (special batch made from new and specially uprated Senator stuff (only 3 pair made))- these were 600+ quid in 2000, so in real terms even more than the daft money UK TVR and TR dealers are charging now. I would not go this route now as you can get these from the US. Many TR people have made these on and off over the years for TR racers, Cambridge Motorsport, TR Enterprises, Ractorations and a few others (mine came from Classis Racecraft).

I know about these as before I found out the spindles that were required in mine were not TR (initially thought they were) I found these over a year back.

Trust me, don't just hand over your cash, do your research - there is a big world out there.

My engine is coming from the US too (stupid spec that would cost >1.5x as much in the UK and as it is a US lump, I think its best built by a US tuner (as they know these inside out and know what bits work best)).

All my internals for my all steel TR4 and much of our steel TR6 race engines came from the US. Tell them what you want (one off rods, pistons, low volume steel cranks even (had 2 Moldex steel Tr4 cranks - Awesome bits of kit) you name it they will make it and it will be 1/2 to 2/3's the price landed and taxes paid of what you'd pay in the UK. Been doing this a long time wink

Linda, so the wheels stay on the red M. The blue M in the Bravo lost a wheel last year. He's not the only one. Mine is still on the standard stuff. But going faster and older it sets me thinking. Changing the M (safety and power) and planning something else for next year (hope for a long winter) Thanks for the info.

Jon, are you coming to Spa 6H? I'm in the 1H race. We must talk and have a beer or two
