My air con appears to have given up. Great timing!

The light comes on when you press the button, but theres no noise from system, no rising of the rpm, or temperature change.

Ive checked the fuse in the cabin fuse box and its fine. Theres also a blue square relay looking thing in the engine bay. What is this and can I check it?

Where should I look/check next?

Any help appreciated.

First, have it re-gased,this should be done every two years. If the pressure drops with age a sensor will stop the pump working. You may have a leak but the only way to find out is gas it up with U/V dye and then test it.Any workshop with an A/C machine will do all of this for £50-£70?

When there's about 50% of the original gas in there, they tend to stop working, protect the components etc.

As said above, get a system pressure test and a re gas if that comes back okay. See what happens then.

There should be a sight glass somewhere where you can check the charge.
