Been looking at E46 330i touring prices recently and they're looking really high. I'm using Parkers Guide on the iPhone and invariably the independent prices are always 1k higher than Parker's estimate.

Is Parkers notorious for underpricing or are prices firming up at the moment?

They do seem to be a little on the high side! I have just (Last Tuesday) had a '51 plate 330i SE Tourer with 129k but *huge* SH and was shocked at the money they were holding - I was just set on a 330i Tourer though! (Had a 320d a few years ago, and loved the car, just not the power...)

What sort of age are you looking for, as I didn't really see anything advertised for less than £3500, and a friend of mine (A trader) just sold a '53 plate with 60k ish for £7995!

What is your budget and what are you hoping to get/aiming for?

The same as your friend ideally. Will be looking at one which is reasonable tomorrow so we'll see what happens.

Also, why are they all Sport models? I'd prefer an SE branded as a 320i for a wolf in sheeps clothing look. The Sport models are a bit too flashy for me.

I'm finding it the opposite to be honest, I've had mine for sale for a while now and have not had even one tire kicker or any stupid offers and mine is reasonably priced. I think the reason is that I'm in Northern Ireland.

I will enquire with him if he is getting anything similar in if you like? (He is a BMW specialist) As for the SE over the sport - thats what I went for, I wanted leather & manual though - so that limited me a little! smile

It is unfortunately, I guess there is no demand over here for them.

Dear mekondelta,

Thank you for your interest in the BMW 330i Touring

BMW acknowledges your dream of owning one. We however regret to inform you that after looking at your payslip even after your Bonus, your application was unsuccessful and you can never afford a BMW in the near future.

We appreciate your dreams and your desires but our brand is not for the third class people like you. We would be glad if you don't insult us with your pay slip again and we have attached it to this email to rid ourselves of it. I have also forwarded your details to KIA for their consideration.

Regards

General Manager,

BMW Brand Management

On a more serious note, as a trader - are you finding them to hold value as per the OP's question? Do they sell well, my trader friends seem to think they are good news in the right colour/spec, they sell quickly and for strong money, is this your experience?

Exactly the same. Easy to sell, hard to buy.

Trouble is all the other traders want them too, which means you end up paying over the top money for one, and then selling an expensive car with very little margin, which is not too bad when you have a quick turnaround.
I only get involved with them when the car is 100% right, with perfect history, and ownership etc. Thus my liabilities are minimised. I don't want any problems with a car that is expensive to fix/prep when I have lots of money tied up in a car with minimal margins.
