Police helicopter in Bagshot last night (Sunday)

Yep, bad one by all accounts, but I haven't heard the details. The air ambulance came down looking to land in the field infront of the house before spotting the horses and wheeling off to land closer to village. Got a phonecall just after from a mate telling me to not bother trying to get onto the A30.
Wow, I'm amazed by this..
I was at the BP garage at the time of the accident. I was the person that made the 999 call. It was a nasty accident, car pulled straight out of the BP garage in to the path of a car travelling along the A30. It made one hell of a bang! However the injuries didn't look that serious, so quite surprised that an air ambulance was needed, some people involved were not wearing their seat belts though, none too clever.
The emergency services response was brilliant. Within 5 minutes of my phone call, a police car, a paramedic and 2 fire engines were on scene. Within 10 minutes a couple more police cars plus an ambulance on scene. The fire brigade sprang straight into action to stabalise the cars, cover off fire risk, leaking fluids etc. The paramedic made fast work of assessing the injuries. Reminds you just how good our emergency services are when you really need them.

Yep, it was certainly a bigger response than I expected when making the call. I was very careful to give an accurate and clear description of the accident and simply answered the questions I was asked by the operator.
Given the accident was blocking half the A30 and they could not just shift the cars it was not entirely an unexpected or disproportionate response. They did not want the driver of the car that was t-boned to move until thoroughly checked over, he took the brunt of the accident.
