Plannign a trip to Spa for the grandprix later this month - all sorted in terms of insurance and breakdown cover but do you need to adjust the lights on the elise for european driving???

Having never taken my own car abroad before not sure what the caper is with the elise - i've seen the sticvkers placed on normal headlights before.....????

Went to Europe 8 times last year and did 2500 miles in France this June without bothering to touch my lights.
No issues at all with the rozzers.

Just make sure you have one hi-vis vest each in the car,a warning triangle and spare bulbs as they're more likely to be interested in that(again, personally no trouble at all in France,Germany,Austria,Italy or Belgium!)

We drove down to Italy last year to see the Mille Miglia in my Elise R - went over the Alps to St Moritz, up through the snowline with the roof off - fantastic ! down to Como, Lake Garda and onto San Marino before cross country to Sienna, then Milan for the Tour of Italy (cycling event) through the St Gothard tunnel and up to Luxembourg, Belgium and home to Hull on the ferry - 2,168 miles door to door - roof off 90% of the time - the best drive I've ever done.
As per previous post, stickers on lights, had an emergency pack of reflective jacket and warning triangle etc - car didn't miss a beat. We're going down to Ile de Re near La Rochelle in September and I think we're more likely to take the Elise than my 996 4S cabriolet as it's far more enjoyable !

Have a great time.

I've just returned from a trip to Stelvio, ( three weeks ago).
We drove through France-Belguim-Luxomburgh-Germany-The entire length of Switzerland and Stelvio is just over the Italian border.
Hi vis jackets in the front of the car for all passengers, warning triangle, medical kit, some countries want a fire extiguisher- check if you need one, GB sticker.
I've got an S1 with headlight covers so putting the deflector stickers on the top was not an option.
I figured that I would not be driving at night so I didn't bother with them. If yo drive through tunnels just put sidelights on, I never got questioned about them.
we did get stopped at the Switz border and asked to show passports and the police had a dig around in the boot- asked our purpose for the visit and informed we would have to but a Switz vignette- their tax for major roads and motorways- around 20 quid.
2100 trouble free miles and some of the best roads in Europe.
You quickly get used to driving on the wrong side, just remember at junctions- tight right- loop left and you will be ok.
Enjoy the trip- you'll love it!
Dunx.

Forgot to say - the other thing I did was to print off ( from the Lotus website) details of all the European Lotus dealers who were close to my chosen route - slipped the information into my document folder, so if anything had happened ( it didn't) I knew I could call an official dealer for advice/spares etc. Since we got back the information's just tucked under the carpet in the boot so it's not forgotten for future trips !

Some are better than others, the one that used to be in Merano was utterly useless. Thankfully PB Racing in Lallio, Italy and Kumschick in Schötz, Switzerland have both been excellent and I'd use them again without hesitation. I've not been to Marcassus in France but know people who they've helped out.
