Removing Copper Oxide

Can this be done?

A quick google suggests dipping in vinegar to create copper acetate which is then soluble in water.

Is this a relatively quick process or would it take weeks?

It's for a multi-block connector.

Matt, lemon juice and vinegar mixed, was an old cleaner used for Brass and copper.

It is quick, but do give it a good rinse after.
