Tesco Insurance Offer - Heads-up
Discussion
Just had a letter through from Tesco offering free MOT and service when you take a car insurance policy through them. The work has to be done at a Halford or Nationwide service centres (and with additional costs of £20 for cars over 2.2-litres) but.....it looks a good deal to me. You need to take a policy out by Sept 15th.
Just to say I'm not connected or affiliated to Tesco in any way shape or form (My car insurance isn't with them).

Do inform us if you obtain a quote.
I think mine on the M3 fully comp, 8 years NCB, protected, plus 3rd party on other cars was around £1500 with a £6/700 excess. I went elsewhere with more benefits for nearer to £400 (£250 excess)
Then again I've almost spent a grand on full service & MOT
Do you get points too?

I just got my wife the cheapest quote so far for her fiat 500, £159, £50 cheaper than anywhere. I am wondering if the MOT is number plate specific or I can use it for my other older car, the 500 does not need an MOT.
Mind you I bet that the Halfrauds/Nationwide MOT station find something wrong that my normal MOT station wouldn't.

Would you want an M3 serviced at the above "garages"?
Can you point me at the part where I recommended that's what you should do?I'm suggesting that for some people this may represent an appealing and cost effective option.
Those of you who think a main dealer stamp guarantees you a quality service need to wake up.

yes sir you need a new exhaust and all the brakes replaced as your brand new car is in a dangerous condition it would be illegal for me to let you drive the car on the road unless you give me your entire life savings and you sell your daughter into slavery

And who mentioned dealer stamps also?..I would probably look into it if I had a run of the mill car.

I was hoping Ferris would realise what I was getting at being a previous M3 Evo owner. I was curious to know if he'd looked at a quote. Though at the same time reasoning he wouldn't take his newer than mine car there.
However, for an old shed I can't see why not... Now, about those club card points?
ETA My M3 went to a special ///M Power knowledgeable garage for servicing. And I'm very happy.
