Focus (2005) 1.8 tdci. No Oil Pressure

Hi All. I am posting this on behalf of a freind of mine, a mechanic by trade.
He changed the timing belt on this car only to have it subsequently break. After repairing the valves and reassembleing the engine has very low oil pressure (less than 1 bar). The engine has been removed and the crank shells have been checked, all perfect. Still no improvement.
After speaking to a technician at the local main Ford dealership this condition has occured before on other focus tdci engines with no solution.
Can anyone point us in the right direction before suicide is contemplated.
