Hi guys, the Ford that me and some friends were due to go to Ford Fair in has needed some last minute work doing to it and it will no longer be ready in time for Ford Fair so I my only other option is to take my Pug 206 as the only other Ford I have (and can drive) is a Ford Connect van which firstly is stickered up with my company name and secondly only fits 2 people (I need space for 4)

At Donnington I have seen some damage done to cars such as Corsa's when they have been parked up at Ford days and I a bit worried that the same will happen to my 206 whilst at Ford Fair. Is the atmosphere with other car brands the same at Ford Fair as it is at Donnington and if so what steps could I take to lessen the chance of coming back to an upside down 206?

I was thinking a note in the window along the lines of "Please don't be harsh my Cosworth is in for a respray, this was still better than taking the train!"

You see I was told that Ford Fair is a little more relaxed than places like the Donington Ford days...I am also thinking that there is a difference between a tricked out Corsa and a 206 with just a bigger pipe.

I saw 2 Corsa's keyed at Donington when I went (probably both by the same people) and there seemed to be a lot of "Look at those numptys in such a such type of car" if it was not a Ford...

Sounds like you'd be better off not going if that's the kind of thing that you're afraid of.

It sounds very much like something I've heard in the news where German cars were damaged when Germany beat England at the soccer game.

It sounds like somewhere to avoid even if you have a Ford - cars, regardless of make/model, are usually someone's pride and joy and shouldn't be damaged - what about those people that have a (say) 206, but really want a Ford, but can't afford one right now?

It's vehicular segregation.... Well, maybe not, but you get the idea

Agreed. I've never felt the need to go to one and I own two Fords! I've heard similar things from others but its probably all blown a bit out of proportion no doubt. But Ford guys usually seem to be so anti-anything else i doubt i'd have much fun anyway.

If an event is the type attended by such ne'er do wells in the first place, why bother going? Sounds like a chavfest to me.

We once went to a VW van meet in Oswestry in a Transit camper, three days later, our van wouldn't start so I asked for a tow, the guys organising took great delight in attaching said tow rope and towing me across the arena in front of all the VW's on show, I mean it's not like Volkswagens ever break down is it?

We were fine with them having a laugh at us though.

Because its the cars I want to see. I drive a Pug but I love all kinds of cars and one of those kinds are Fords.

I can see Fords racing around the track, pretty girls standing next to Cosworths and all kinds of mint conditon Fords both old and new...it's just I don't want to find a scratched up Pug on going home.
