Bit late in the day, but thought it would be worth posting as it's fantastic. Saw this in the paddock and looked stunning. How much would a car like this be worth considering it's much rarer than Evan's £12m car?

"Ferrari built only 39 250 GTOs (33 of the "normal" cars, three with the four-litre 330 engine sometimes called the "330 GTO" - recognizable by the large hump on the hood - and three "Type 64" cars, with revised bodywork)."

4561SA 330 LM Berlinetta Owners : I. Michel Paul-Cavalier (F), 1963-64 2. Col Ronnie Hoare, - Maranello Concessionaires(GB), 1964-66 3. Charles Daniels (GB), 1966-80 4. lan & - Martin Hilton (GB),1980-86, registered BGX 4B, then 330 GTO 5. A. - Marnell (USA),1986-87 6. A. & W. Meier (CH), 1987-90 7. Engelbert Steiger (CH), 1990 onwards

Race History : 1966 - Mar 13 BRSCC Snetterton (GB), accident, Charles Daniels - Mar 20 Maidstone & Mid-Kent MC Meeting, Brands Hatch (GB), 3rd OA, race no 36, Daniels - Sep ?? Mallory Park (GB), did not start, Daniels

Some great pictures! Interesting history of the 330 GTO to.
I do prefer that classic shape over the Evans type body shape.
I did see the rarest GTO of them all, the "bread van". This was last month at the Classic Le mans. But man thats ugly compared to the classic 250/330 GTO.

I believe the Breadvan is a rebodied 250GT SWB rather thab a GTO. Shame it wasn't racing at CLM but nice to see it in the paddock. Also, wonderful to see Willie Green winning in the 330GTO at Silverstone.

So is it not owned by Engelbert Steiger any more, or was Mr Green racing his car on his behalf?

The car was raced by Willie Green and Carlos Vogole (sp?) at Silverstone. I presumed Carlos was the owner, with Willie racing it on his behalf. If I recall, it was also in the TT Celebration race at last year's Goodwood Revival. My programme archive is at home so will check on who was the entrant when I get back as Goodwood issue that information.

Oh, as an aside, is that the same Steiger family who owned/raced 512M and 312PB in the Ferrari/Maserati Challenge in the 1990s? I seem to recall one was called Patrick - I had a photo of them on my wall as a teenager from the Coys Historic in about 1997...

That also has 'a large hump on the hood' (and also has a louvered bonnet), but that's a 250 not a 330. So is the Green one a 250 with a 330 bonnet?

I think the 250 has a slight hump, the 330 hump looks bigger to me. As for the louvred bonnet... 15mins and a circular metal saw beer

Seriously your not joking, do you know what they used to do to the GTOs......and the california? From drilling and cutting holes, to hand painting. Some of these cars were used and abused. Check out this bit of historic video and listen to the commentary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md_jcC6OnIU&pla...
