PH Sunday Service - 22/08/10

PistonHeads returns to Rolls-Royce for another Sunday spectacular

The PistonHeads Sunday Service is a simple pleasure, no fuss, no frills just great people with great cars enjoying a great breakfast. The venues for these events are often special too, as manufacturers open their doors early on a Sunday morning to welcome PHers from far and wide. Sunday Service venues don't get much better than this month's however, as we return for another visit to the glitzy Rolls-Royce HQ at Goodwood.

On Sunday 22nd August at 09.00am, we will open the gates and will attempt to fill all of the 300 car parking spaces that we have been allocated. If you plan to come along on the day, we strongly suggest that you sign up as soon as possible, in order to help us keep an eye on the numbers.

There are two car parks at the Rolls-Royce facility, one at the front (holding 150 cars) and one to the side (holding another 150) of the main building - these will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Please note that vehicles parked in front of the main building will not be able to move until midday at the earliest as this area becomes a busy pedestrian area once the meet has fully opened. If you would like to leave earlier than this, please advise the marshalls on the gate as you arrive so they can park you accordingly.

As is usual for a PH 'service' hot breakfasts will be available thanks to the Rolls-Royce kitchen staff and a good collection of R-R product will be on display in addition to the PH metal. If that isn't enough, the actual manufacturing plant will be open for tours throughout the morning. Local experts will be on-hand to talk you through the manufacturing process and you will get to see what goes into making the best cars in the world. Tours will be charged at £5 with all proceeds going to the Rolls-Royce chosen charity - The Sussex Air Ambulance.

Please sign up here to show yourself as attending.

Gates open at 09.00 and will close at 13.00

Entry to the venue is via the Stane Street entrance only.

No photography is allowed inside of the assembly plant

Thanks to Rolls-Royce for arranging this fantastic morning.

RR was a great Sunday Service last year and I'm looking forward to this one. Their breakfast was very very tasty as well.
The factory tour will be interesting as well, and for a very good cause
See you all there

Is there not a "put your name down" system for Wilton House Sunday Service for 14 August.

It's not, strictly speaking, a PH event though.

Is there a suitable location? Not really sure if there are any manufacturers based up there so you'd struggle to get a venue

Do you think bringing a motorbike would be permissible or is purely for the 4 wheelers?
I have sold my car during the warmer months. I'd love to attend though.
