I know that many here have found his writing to be very good, and far outweighing his seemingly daft TV commentary, but I found this article to be brilliant.

Interesting stuff about the front end of the red bull car. Even if its only partly true, sounds damn clever!

I guess this is the holy grail, increased downforce with minimum drag.

I must watch those slow mo vids of the wing moving to see if any movment elsewhere is evident!

This animation shows the wing moving up and down, but the nose section appears to be changing shape too, as if the nose flexes downwards under load.

But if that 'failure' was a consequence of the new flexing system they had put on the car then why risk Vettel's result in the race by putting on a potentially unreliable new part? I think they just didn't screw it back on properly hence why they were confident putting another of the new wings (from Webber's car!) back on Vettels car.

I'd agree that it looked more like a case of not screwing it on properly at Silverstone as the entire nose appeared to drop down rather than the wing itself failing.

Great animation that. If you cover everything over below the yellow line with your hand (to take your eyes off the wishbone movement) the nose is definitely doing something at its tip. I don't think its the reflections either.
If the nose droops at speed, presumably the whole front wing assembly is lower, therefore, combine this with a flexible wing and the wing endplates nearly touch the ground creating a ground effect?

If so, clever stuff.
