Beer - What do you drink and why?

Just trying to get an idea of what people drink beer wise in the UK at the moment, draft beers this is. Personally, i used to drink Rolling Rock, good beer to enjoy on a night out, not too heavy, not too light and good to drink for the duration. Bottled beer i know but when i lived in the US, it was rather enjoyable on draft.

Always avoided Stella as it doesn't really appeal. Having had a discussion with a few friends recently, we were the typical, Guinness, local IPA and Carlsberg drinkers, so I was just curios as to what the masses enjoyed.

Also, please comment on your favorite bottled lager, whether it be Red Stripe, Peroni etc.

My tastes vary throughout the year. Guinness sits up there as a regular, and also real ales (not draft very often though granted). rarely ever do I drink draft lager.

One thing i love about Germany is the beer, there is a local beer for every city, town etc.

Ditto - depends on my mood, occasion and weather.

Mainly ales like black sheep, landlord, spitfire etc etc.

Can't drink the likes of stella anymore as they send me a bit loopy.

I dont drink often these days, but when I do, I tend to go for Bombay Saphire and tonic, red wine or ale

If I'm out on a night with the guys, I'll start on lager, move on gin and end on cocktails

Whatever real beers (ales, porters, etc.) I can find that I've never heard of before, generally. Ideally produced within about a 30 mile radius of wherever I am.

I enjoy a variety of ales, bitters and lagers.

Brakspear, Laverstoke, Theakston, Black Sheep.

Oh yes and Flowerpot Brewary's Cheriton Porter is magnificent. http://www.flowerpots.f2s.com/index.html

I'm also enjoying Brewdog's Punk IPA.

And I have five bottles of Stella in the fridge.

I am an Ale drinker and drink many different types depending how I feel! I also Quite like good quality European beers as well!

Where ever possible Stella Artois - Just prefer the taste if it ice cold. Not warm though!

Depends on the circumstances - last night was Guinness, some nights its lager some nights proper beer.

I usually drink Stella, but if it's unavailable...then it will be another premium lager eg Kronenbourg etc. If a standard lager (ie. Fosters) is only available then I'll look at the ale selection and pick a 'regional ale'.
Sometimes I visit a pub that sells draught Leffe, so when there I always have that.

Whenever I can get it on draft, Coors Lite........lived in Denver for nearly 5 years and it was pretty much everywhere and got used to it very quickly - light and refreshing......

Not in many places over here so second choice would be Fosters/Carling
