Evil flies on the loose

"Beware of the superfly with a taste for humans"
"The experts say the Blandford fly - a tiny bug that used to be found only in streams in rural southern England - is moving into towns and cities, encouraged by the popularity of garden water features."

I mention this cause one of the fkers has got me and I'm now confined to bed for "at least" 48 hours.
Good taste prevents me from uploading an image of my leg and foot in the first instance, but if anyone wants to see please ask.

If you'd chopped your leg off whilst trying to change a set of spark plugs, or snapped your arm in half changing gear to overtake a coach we'd have had some lovely pictures to gawk at.
Now, either this 'super fly' has only left a tiny-little-pin-prick-of-a-bite or you have girly-stick-legs..
I, for one, am intrigued as to how bad a fly bite can really get..
Also, my sympathys This post in largely in jest. I hope you have a full and swift recovery.

I can confirm these are evil nasty things (Blandford Fly)....
was bitten last year by one, and was off work for weeks recovering,
and was bitten last weekend by one, and have spent the last week off recovering... back to work tomorrow, as this time acted quickly once knew what was happening.... unlike last year did the typical bloke thing leaving it thinking it will go away.

Pics or it didn't happen.
Hope this satisifies your your thirst .. apologises for quality iphone camera is shi(not very good)t.... last year camping bitten in Norfolk
..... last years' bite after I burst the blister, still a big mottled palm sized scar on leg
... this years bite which is substantially small then last years, just recovering from.
GP's don't appear to have any idea, so whilst at home out of curiosity I done some reasearch.... appears a few have experienced it on PH, and I also came across this article local to me http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=blandford+fly+...
If you are bitten get down the GP's asap, and get some antibiotics ,after firstt lot which didn't work for me, this did Augmentin 625Mg (so nothing special required).
