26th Sep - Blandford Garrison Families Day, Dorset.
Discussion
Blandford Garrison, the home of the Royal Corps of Signals, is having a families day on the afternoon of Sunday 26th September to thank the soldiers and their families for all of their hard work and sacrifices. There will be the usual BBQ food, drinks, music and entertainment. Essentially it is a village fete, with the emphasis on the children, solely provided for the families of serving personnel.
Blandford is located about 30 mins West of Salisbury, 20 mins North of Poole. The event will begin at 1300 and go on until around 1700 (1PM until 5PM for the civvies...
)
I thought it would be a nice gesture, and as good an excuse as any for a get together, if we could put on a reasonable show of cars for the kids (and realistically the dads!)
As the event is on an active Army camp you will need to provide your real names and vehicle registrations before the event but this will be done by PM nearer the time. You will also need to bring photo ID on the day (passport, photo driving licence etc.) Other than that there are no restrictions on who can attend.
I have been asked to keep the numbers down to around 20 but I'm happy to let the list roll on to act as a list of reserves should people drop out.
Please add your name to the list if you are able to attend. If you have any questions please ask.

Now that this is only a couple of weeks away I was wondering if there was any more interest in this day out?
It promises to be a great day with all kinds of summer fete style stalls, food, drink, entertainment, military displays and a 'World Record Breaking World Record Attempt'!!!!
It really would be good to get a collection of cars there and I know they would all be appreciated by the serving lads and ladies. Surely we can do better than two!!!!
If there any questions please feel free to ask, thanks,
Joe.

Clive,
Thanks for the response. Yes the event is till going ahead, there's alot on and the cars were intended to be a nice sideline. It's just a park up affair, we don't have a airfield or anything but if you were willing to take people for a 'normal road speed' drive I'm sure no-one would knock you back!!
To be honest though, unless a few more people show willing over the next few days, I think your TVR may be a little lonely on the day! You are still more than welcome but even my Maserati is incredibly ill and won't be able to make it, so it may be a one car show...
Fingers crossed for a late surge! Any more to keep Clive company?...
Thanks again,
Joe.
