That's exactly the same warranty as the private car warranty which was talked about a couple of weeks ago.
£395 if bought online, but no monthly installment option.

Just be sure to check with WH that they WILL cover FULL labour costs.

And make sure you get it in Writing!

You have been warned.

Yep, they aren't a charity. You will fight tooth and nail to break even each year and if you do manage that the company will go bust.

So where do you think the money comes from to fund your car, which is easily likely to double that amount each year in repairs?

Sometimes, but not always the case. I've had a starter motor and a new clutch on my policy so far. £1255 worth of work done, 2yr warranty cost £800 and 3/4 year still to run. Can be worthwhile provided you can get cover for the full cost of the vehicle rather than £1000 limit.

But surely it's the same as House Insurance(contents). Something goes wrong and your covered? Bet everybody has a home contents insurance policy? These companys make there money exactly the same way surely? SOme they win on some they dont? TVR's being in the 'dont' catoegory no doubt!

Waranty companies have a big gun called wear and tear.
They all quote that and then its down to you to prove there engineers are wrong. Can cost more than problem itself in legal fees.

Been there done that. Very frustrating when you know your being had over. Funny how nice they are before you claim. With insurance its more cut and dry.

I have found Warranty Holdings to be very good (so far) or is it the dealer fighting in your corner? I have had clutch and flywheel, Alloy radiator and wiper motor, still have over 2 years of it to run so a bonus in £ terms even if i don't claim again.

You're spot there.....

I haven't bothered with a warranty since the suspension broke on the nearside rear and the warranty co' wouldn't pay for both sides to be upgraded. They said they would only pay for the side that was broken, even though I had no option but to upgrade both at the same time.

Ever since then all the problems I've had have been due to wear and tear, so couldn't have claimed anyway. Been about three years now.
The dealer always tried to squirm out of it. Often wondered who's side they are on IMO.

Now I've said this I guess it's going to fall apart on me now.

I'm with you all the way on this. Had a "top" warranty on a Lotus Esprit Turbo and it wasn't worth squat. EVERYTHING can be put down to wear and tear (or negligence if the EXACT service schedule has not been adhered to), even if the engine blows up. You have to fight tooth and nail for every penny, in my case involving a solicitor, and all the while your pride and joy languishes in dry dock. Take your chances and save the money for your next garage bill.

The AA do a warranty thats £52 a year.

Seems about as useful as the WHA one as well...

In so far as you want to claim you've got to fight anyway.

is this AA waranty up to the value of the car or is it limited somewhere?

Best thing i've spent on the car, has been the £52 on the AA parts and labour. They cover you for £500 max each claim; 3 claims max per year. If you call the AA out, and they cant repair at the side of the road and then take you to a garage, then you are covered if its 'breakage/failure'.

NB - If you take the car in, because you've noticed a problem, and you havn't involved the AA. NOT covered.

www.privatevehiclewarranty.co.uk/

This was the place, can't vouch for the warranty as I haven't used it yet, but the policy is the unlimited warranty holdings gold policy.
