From memory (I am quite old), the Calvy was very like an NG, but certainly at the time it wasn't anything like the quality of the NG. Findhorn's NGs seem well made, so I would imagine they are a better bet, although there is probably a significant price differential.

what i´ve heard the bult quality of Calvy was good, too.

also, it seems that not many cars from calvy have been built or survived...so they seem quite rare?

what was the original model, calvy and NG copied the design from?
The NG was an original design by Nick Green as far as I'm aware. The radiator surround has a kind of Aston Martin International flavour, I suppose.
It seems from Googling that the Calvy was copied from Nick's TC. I wasn't aware of that when it was introduced, but there was a big flurry of trad roadsters back then.

i now got some "old" press clippings and road tests where the car left a good impression to the testers for built quality, roadholding and performance (with the v8), even a comparative test with a Morgan was done!!
Hmmm.....
The Calvys that were about at the time were certainly not a patch on the NGs. But there weren't anything like as many.

I was told that some of the Calvy mouldings were lifted straight off NG parts.
