I presume the answer is yes, but do they give you oversized ones to fit over your goggles?

Yes, but it's not fantastically comfortable wearing 2 pairs of goggles at once. If you're not all that interested in the film, it can be a great opportunity for a kip.

Not easily - you'd need to hold them at arms length away from your face so that the depth perception is correct otherwise the 3D effect doesn't quite work.

Yes, by the way

If you wear contact lenses, you need one blue one and one red one.

Yep its fine.

Guess it depends on why you need the glasses though.

If you're going to a drive-in cinema, you'll find it easier if you have a prescription windscreen.

they don't use colour lenses to make them 3D anymore, catch up cockwomble!!

I have seen plenty of people wearing the 3D glasses over your normal glasses.

They worked...although Toy Story 3 was not worth watching in 3D TBH.

The trailers and Sky 3D advert on the other hand.....I get this fad. I get it!

3D doen't work for me - my right eye's optic nerve is underperforming (I've had words at the annual review but no signs of improvement) so I see virtually eveerythign through my left eye.

With the recent push to 3D (movies and TV) I wonder if I'll get to the point where I can't watch movies anymore ebcause it looks wierd to my poor 2D life?

I agree. I didn't think TS3 benefitted from 3D, unlike the short film before and some of the ads.

It definitely seems to depend on what you need the glasses for. In my group of friends, 3 of us wear glasses, I saw the 3D fine when I went, one friend didn't see any 3D effects, and another only saw it in his direct line of sight, the picture was hazy around the periphery.

edited to add, the film we watched was Avatar

I saw Toy Story 3 last weekend and forgot my glasses - although my eyesight is good enough to pass the driving test without wearing glasses (and I can watch normal films at the cinema without them) I found it incredibly uncomfortable to watch a 3D film without them - as my eyes are just slightly out of focus the 3d effect just made this much worse, especially when stuff was moving around fast in the trailers - it became physically painful as this point and I had to keep looking away from the screen.

I saw the re-release of Toy Story 2 in 3d with my glasses on and it was fine, worked really well. The 3d glasses are so large they fit fine over normal glasses.

So if you need glasses at all, don't try and watch a 3d film without them - you'll just end up with a headache.
