A couple of weeks ago, I was asked to work at Oulton Park on an "Experience" with a difference, and I'm sure there are many of you out there who would be interested with a view maybe, to going the whole distance and sampling a race, without it costing a fortune. Have a look at the website:-

I hope the mods don't find this out of order, but if you do & subsequently feel the need to remove the post, please accept my apologies.

I've been thinking about doing my ARDS and while this sort of thing appeals it does sort of sound a bit like a quick version to get you through the test etc. Bit like the old "Microsoft Certified Engineer in a Day" courses.

Is this the case or is the ARDS really quite basic once you've built up some experience and know about lines, braking techniques, track etiquette, flags etc

TBH the driving bit of ARDS is a bit of a joke at measuring your competence to race. You drive at slower than track day pace, as long as you demonstrate that you have some idea of correct track position and where any other cars are in relation to yours to give them space and drive smoothly, you've passed. It's not intended to be about high speed car control, just a very basic test to see if you are safe on track. It should be a breeze for anybody that has done even one track day before.

Added edit - The website looks a really good package, which championship would people on the "Chequered flag" experience be racing in?
