Just a heads up chaps

Their is a new omega store opening in the Trafford Centre in Manchester.

Just a question though, will they do on site servicing or will they send watches off for servicing?

Saw it the other day and wonder what advantages will it give over the 5+ shops in the trafford centre who sell Omega now? More choice? Lower cost?

Interesting to see that Beaverbrooks have moved (coincidentally or as a direct result?). I thought it was going next door, but didn't look that closely).

I can't help thinking that Goldsmiths & Fraser Hart will either suffer quite a bit or will be more keen to discount (on the QT presumably). At full whack, I'd imagine that the majority of people would plump for the boutique. However, I guess that the chains will still have the same targets - but will they discount with big brother leaning over the proverbial shoulder?

They only do very minor cosmetic works at Bond St, so I doubt it.

I was told that they'll do a full service at Bond St. The manager very much gave me the impression that they didn't really have enough work, and that stuff would be done quickly as a result.

That's interesting.

When I called to collect my SMP Ti following a service and found they had put the strap back on the wrong way round, having convinced the Bond St staff this was so (only by taking the SMP steel off my wrist and proving something was amiss hehe), they said they were not up to anything much more than taking links out etc on site and back to Switzerland it had to go - for another 4 weeks curse

Bond St is a five minute walk from the office - I'll check it out next week.
