Whine under decelaration/coasting

My Z4 has developed a whining noise, which occurs from 3000 to 2000 revs predominantly.

It's only happened since my diff replacement but is getting worse.

It's going to BMW today but does anyone have an idea what it could be?

Relacement diff not done properly or is also knackered? Has to be the obvious one doesn't it?

Sounds like a candidate for knackered diff bearings, or maybe prop-shaft bearing(s).

Maybe something wasn't lined up quite right when it was re-fitted ??
