Vehicle insurance - Anyone know?

I'm bored of my current job. I have always considered the job of a vehicle damage surveyor to be one i would like to do. I know that 90% of the time it would involve boring cars, but 10% of the time, there would be great cars to look at.

Anyone do this for a living?

When i wrote of my Porsche a chap came round and looked over the car, checked the history etc for ages before taking some pictures and going.

Any idea how much salary a job like this would command?

If you are NVQ qualified vehicle assessor you would start around 25k, top earnings about 30k.
If you were not qualified and trained through an insurance firm you'd probably start an about 18k while training and then move to about 23k when qualified.
