Summer Clean On My Daily Driver-Mercedes C32 AMG
Discussion
Hi
I did start this thread in the mercedes section, but only realised recently that there was a detailing section on here. My car hadn't been cleaned for 4 months due to having alot of work on, and I can't just give cars a quick clean as I think its pointless.
First of was the interior, and heres the stages:
-Quick vacuum.
-Plastics degreased, scrubed & dried.
-Roof lining, floors & mats steam cleaned (with prochem steam cleaner not silly wet vac)
-Leather scrubbed, cleaned & conditioned.
-Interior glass polished.
-Detailed vacuum.
-Interior rubber trim cleaned & sealed.

Once the interior was completed, I moved onto washing and decontaminating the paint work. Like I said, I had not washed my car for four months, so it was a mess. The following wash was then completed.
-Door shuts, vents, grilles & gaps degeased and left to dwell.
-Car was then snow foamed and left to dwell.
-Door shuts, vents, grilles & gaps were then agitated with various detailing brushes.
-Car was then thoroughly jet washed concentrating on the wheel arches and underseals.
-Car was then washed with 2 bucket method and rinsed.
-Car was then clayed (paint * glass)
-Car was then treated to iron cut to highlight and remove any excess contaminations and oxidations, and then rinsed.
-Car was then dried with 70/30 towels, and warm air blower to remove all excess water from vents, gaps and shuts.
A quick picture of the car during the snow foam.

Claying the bodywork (note lots of clay lube)

Claying the glass.

Once completed it was time for the paint correction stage. The following was done:
-Car was giving a complete thorough IPA wipedown to remove any excess oils from the paint.
-Car was masked up.
-All swirls, marring, holograms, & rds were removed using 3 stage paint correction process.
-Car wash then rewashed, dried & IPA wipedown to remove oils left by the correction process.
Here's some photos from the paint correction:

After the re-wash, thorough IPA wipdown, the car was then treated to the lsp's and finishing touches as follows:
-Alloys were pre-wax cleaned and treated to wheel heat sealant.
-Tyres were dressed.
-Arches were re-coloured.
-door shuts were polished.
-Glass was polised using the d.a. and rain repellant protected.
-Exhaust were polished using a dremel rotary tool, and sealed with heat proof sealant.
-Paint work was treated to a pre-wax cleaner.
-Paint was then treated to zaino zfx treatment which included, 4 x coats of z2 pro, 3 coats of z6 and 3 coats of z8.
-Detailing sticks were then used to remove any excess polish etc from all the gaps, vents and grilles.
I unfortunatly didn't get any pictures of it after I finished as the sun decided to disapear and thought it was pointless. The car is lookin dirty now, after 9 days of driving and living outiside, but obviously a quick clean (being no doubt 5 hours) will bring it back up to standard and i'll get some photo's of it on saturday. Also I will be doing the engine but not till next weekend as thats the next time i'll have time. Hope you enjoyed!
Regards Michael
