Decided to bite the bullet with the blue and yellow people as the aircon recharge is a fair bit cheaper than the other quotes I got. It's hooked up to the machine, they can't possibly do me any wrong I thought. Turns out they only look at the machine. Vacuum pressure checked Ok and gassed. Paid up and drove the car up the road. Had a look underneath the bonnet to check if there are any leaks (being the un-trusting sort). Large leak where the pipe connects to the condenser. Can only assume that the vacuum kept the seal where an O ring might have perished.

Took it back to be told that it was normal, invited them to poke their head underneath where they then gave me a refund instantly. Is it too much for them to have a quick glance over all the pipes once they are done. They do put a dye in after all!
