Need a new video camera for holiday

I know next to nothing about video cameras. I don't need anything all singing and dancing, just something to take decent video on holiday, landmarks, kids messing about in the pool - that sort of thing.
Ideally something small and neat that's easy to stick in the wifes handbag.
No idea if I want HD or not, I suspect I do. I suppose battery life and storage is reasonably important. Not worried about the type of storage.
Budget is £200-300
Any recommendations gents?

I bought the Sanyo Xacti WH-1 and get pretty good results from it for the price. I wanted a waterproof video cam for beach and pool holidays and I think it's great.
It takes SD cards and the battery life is pretty good at about 5 hours. I have picked up a 32Gb SD card and can get 7 hours 720p video out of it. It's not the best but easy to use and pretty cheap. The still picture quality is poor but I have a proper camera for that.
