MX-5 dilemma...
Discussion
Dear Pistonheaders...
Help me please...I'm having thoughts of selling my Mk3 1.8 Niseko!
I bought it In February after having a Mini GP for 12 months. Having owned a MK2 in the past I thought it would be as much fun again. Now I don't know if it's just because I've moved on or whether I'm missing the power of the GP, but something's just not doing it for me?
I have wondered whether lowering it and getting it properly aligned is the missing piece in the jigsaw, but it's a lot of money to spend if I still feel the same way afterwards.
I'm looking at it now on the driveway as I type this and I know I should be thinking how lucky I am. It IS a great looking car, a lot of the time I DO enjoy driving it, and it DOES makes sense financially (still under warranty, will never break down, etc), but I can't shake that feeling. Some days I think 'Don't be daft' and think I'll keep it, and then the next I'm hankering for something more. Don't get me wrong, I'm not after another GP again - a truly great car tho' it is.
What's been drawing me is a.......Renault. Sorry.
A Clio Renaultsport 197 F1 R27 to be precise. In Liquid Yellow. Sorry again.
I know, it will probably have lots of niggles, will break down on me and, being French, fall to bits over time. But still.
My advert is on the classifieds and for what I hope to get for it a low mileage Clio F1 is easily within reach.

I've driven a 197 and it was pretty fantastic, so I can see where you're coming from...
I agree with the the above though, I think you've bought the wrong one.
Either get a 2.0 Mk3, or go back to an earlier one; a Mk2.5 1.8 maybe?
ETA French cars don't necessarily always break and fall apart either!
My previous Clio never broke and nothing ever fell of, likewise my mum's Clio RS 182.
