Too thick a line might look aftermarket and clumsy. Weren't there accurate stripes in the US that somebody was talking about mail ordering??

I have researched this as I had all of my striping replaced a couple of years ago.

The factory stripe was made by 3M. If you search google for 3M scotchcal 72309 you will find what you are looking for in blue. The dimensions were 1/16th stripe, 1/8th void, 1/8th stripe. Its available on usa ebay here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3M-723-09-3M-Scotch...

There is also a stripe in the UK made by Trillogy that is sold in Wilco car assessory shops that also fits the bill.
Its code is s203 for black and they call it '7.5mm mini twin stripe'
This is available in black, red or silver from what I can remember for a couple of pounds a reel.
I fitted this in black and its good stuff. I bought a spare reel in case I need it in the future.

I can only find this link on their online store for silver but its worth calling them to see what other colours they have. As I said I know its available in black too as I used it.

hehe Too much falling down sauce affecting your vision Dicky. I can see what you mean now, if I just squint & move back a bit. It's the drivers door & front wing.

I don't think its too thick the original "tasmin" stripes are MUCH wider (as they incorporate the word "Tasmin" in appx 1" high letters!) its personal taste I would say....I'm still thinking about putting the Tasmin stripes back on my Wedge (when I remove the Le Mans stickers!)

Would like to see the "finished" effect.smile

A couple of wedgefests ago I went round all the wedges specifically looking at stripes and - no two were the same! What a surprise!

Yes 3M do make the correct stuff but you can't get it in the UK any more. I found some in a car parts shop near Boston when I was over in the States and bought a few reels. I have some "coppery" gold colour if you're interested, Wyn.

Other than that it's a case of using the wider stuff you can get from halfrauds and the like.

Oh - and like the "money shot", Wyn ;^)

Well chaps, managed to get an exact match at Spares World. They had a rack full of every possible size & colour. £3.75 for a reel.

Couple of pics of my progress so far at www.alsaautomotive.co.uk
