So I was watching the episode of Wheeler Dealers last night where they wrapped a mini in matt carbon-effect vinyl. And I was thinking: I could have that done on my Z4MC, which is black already. Probably would go for a glossy carbon effect rather than the matt though (I'm not really a fan of that matt effect at all).

What do you reckon? Would it look OK or tacky?

I would go for something slightly more subtle and only do the bonnet and the roof. Overall I think it will look good...

Doesn't it take off some of your paint work underneath? (although they claim it doesn't)

there is an e92 m3 locally that has a satin black wrap on it. it is quite textured and looks great to my eye. much better than a fake carbon look

There was a matt wrapped roadster on the z4 forum, not an M but with the M bumper. It certainly brings out the batman look. Not sure I could live with it on a daily basis. In fact unless you are batman it would probably be quite embarrassing.

It'll look good. TBH, if you were doing to whole car I'd go matt wrap with carbon bootlid and bonnet.

A nice, temporary colour change, no problem to remove so long as you're paintwork is in good condition.

Some of the better carbon films look excellent now. Whenever we do a bonnet/ roof/ full wrap customers are always surprised at how realistic it looks!
