Back to my basket case,

Could someone post so pictures for me of the following areas of an S1 so I can suss out what's missing:

Centre console.
Under front bonet - heater and washer bottle
Under tailgate - battery location and the opposite side.
Rear caliper and gearchange rod locations, I seem to have one touching the disk - can't be right.

Possibly even better would be to meet up another owner - anybody near Redhill - Surrey?

Many many thanks,

Steve.

Check out the LEW roadtests - there are a few pictures in there, not particularly high resolution but they might help. I'm just down the road in East Grinstead but mine's a Stevens Esprit.
Cheers, Richard.

I've seen the UK Sports Cars (Canterbury, I think) have a v good condition unrestored S1 for sale, with original interior including green dials. Might be worth a trip down there or check the website www.uksportscars.com.

Cheers,
Richard.

Excellent - good find, almost identical to mine in colour etc....but mines a basket case!

I think a trip to canterbury with digital camera in hand may be required.

Many Thanks,

Steve.

You could persuade a relative to buy an Esprit as well to copy. That's what my brother who is restoring a S1 did. Not that I'm complaining...

In his S1 we put a heater from a 1985 Honda Civic. The fan is separate from the core unit and we made it fit. It will be a lot better than the original. The controls fit neatly in the space in front of the gearshift but could be located in original location and have similar appearance.

A washer unit from a Isuzu Piaza fitted neatly into my S2. Similar size and appearance to original

Email me if you want photos.
