Sorry, but a car with the engine in the middle is not a Corvette. A car with an engine that doesn't have 8-cylinders in a 'V' formation is not a Corvette. The Vette is the only thing GM does right. It may not appeal to everyone, but it's got history, heritage, and pedigree. Remember when Porsche was going to replace the arse-engined 911 with the 928? How'd that work out for them? Make it smaller, lighter, more efficient, better built, whatever - but don't f*ck with a successful formula. I for one would no more buy a mid-engined 6-cylinder Vette than I would a front-engined diesel 911.
