Alfa GTV Cup Chassis Numbers

Is there a register anywhere of GTV cups (eg. car xxx of 150)? I'm trying to help a friend find the number of his car, is a genuine Cup as it says so on the V5, only prob is the numpty he bought it from didn't know the car number.

Isn't there a plaque in the car...pretty sure there should be?

This kind of story has popped up before, from memory some V5s may have incorrect information
