Rag and Bone Man Hillarity!
Discussion
Lived in my village for 6 years, never seen anythign like this til this morning.
About 10.30, missus comes in from outide to say she can hear a "Rag and Bone Man" in the road behind our house, and she was going to take our daughter out to see him....
Hmmmmm never seen or heard one and knowing how desperate pikeys are to weigh stuff in nowadays, I said, "hang on, it may be pikeys, let me have a look". So it is a half mile drive or walk to get to the street behind my house, I jump in the car, and nearly crashed when I saw what they were up to.
I saw a flatbed drop side transit, with two pikeys lifting a little tiny Pony up over the side!
Bemused, I sat and watched as they drove really slowly with this Pony slipping over all the time as they left and drove to the next road, (about half a mile!) They then lifted the Pony off, and one pikey walked ahead of the transit shouting "Rag and Bone" as flatbed drove about 100 yards behind.
Women and kids were coming out to see the Pony, and the Pikeys were clocking all the open windows etc and Mums on their own, no one in etc!
Thing is, there was a load of scrap in the back that this poor Pony was standing on and falling on!
I would have got a photo but we are out of Custard.
Plod was not interested as the vehicle was "not registered", and refered me to RSPCA. No local Gypo camps, so God knows how far the poor bugger was in the back en route!
