Just been discussing this vid in the office:

To me, that seems ridiculously over the top - it's the same type of reaction you see in the US "COPS" show, after an hour long chase.
The guy has clearly stopped, and the officer didn't even try to open the door before getting all Bruce Lee on the side window.
And what was the point in kicking in the windscreen? they're designed not to collapse in, so it wasn't going to achieve entry was it?

He did drive off, but he didn't go far before pulling over a second time, as he believed he had been dealt with... by the time the police caught up and were behind him, he pulled over again...
He made a stupid mistake, but did pull over again...
I can't see any justification for any of it - even when they yank the old timer out of the car without releasing his now-fastened seatbelt.
There may be more to it, but going off what we're told, I'm just glad I'm not in Gwent.
