Hi Guys,
I am new to the forum so be nice
I am looking into getting an MX5 for a bit of track fun and cruising round with the Mrs. I know it wont be a full blown track monster but will it be quick enough to have fun? I live in East kent so trips to Nurburgring will be common for me. Plus I need the mrs to be able to trundle round in it. If she cant then I wont be able to buy it haha.

Hi there. I'm from Whitstable
Keep an eye out for my '5.
For ~2K you won't find a more fun car.
In terms of straight line speed, yeah they won't win many drag races but to use them like that misses the point. It's all about the handling.
I've lightly tuned my NA with breathing mods, timing mod, suspension and now it is a quick little car.

I did Cadwell a few weeks back in my 1.6.
Lots of prep though. Swapped the wheels front to rear to eke out a bit more wear and pumped them up.
That was it, other than filling the car with picnic and chairs, as I thought I'd only get out on the track for a small part of the time.
WRONG! It would go out and lap as long as I could stay alert and the tyres didn't go off. No brake overheating or otehr misbehaviour, and yes, I had most of the the other cars there overtake me, but it certainly didn't disgrace itself round the twisty bits.
Hurry up and get one - every day you leave it is another day you spend in driving purgatory!
