Ok,

So I am sad and wake up early. But everything seems to start at midday. Can any of you tell me what goes on in the morning that is good to go to.

Cheers,
Caroline

Not a lot, I suspect due to the performers having been up late the night before. Get down to the Olive Branch or Circle for a decent breakfast which should take you up to about midday. Don't think either opens until 10.

Or get up Arthur's Seat for some views when its quiet. Not that the weather looks like being much good.

Do the touristy stuff - Castle, Camera Obscura, Arthur's Seat, Calton Hill etc. Only the Japanese will be up and about at that time.

National Museum of Scotland http://www.nms.ac.uk/our_museums/national_museum.a... Only got to see a part of the ground floor as we were booked to go to Mary King's close, but did see Jackie Stewart's old F1 car and Trophy, had a go in an F1 simulator and saw Dolly the Sheep. Opens at 10 and is free. Camera obscura up near the castle is supposed to be excellent and the Edinburgh dungeons was a good laugh, although it was mainly at my expense. It has an old fashioned interactive court and I got called up to the dock "Judge: Where are you from Sir? Me: Glasgow. Judge: GUILTY, GUILTY",laugh and a meeting with a torturer, again I was the 'volunteer'. Couldn't say no as we were there as part of the wee fellas xmas.
