Squeaky dash - Mk2

This is a little embarrassing.

I normally blast around with the roof open and/or the stereo blaring, but the other night I drove home with the roof closed and the radio off for no real reason and found that every time I went over a bumpy bit of road there was a reasonably loud and annoying squeak from the area behind the instrument cluster. (I've since established that it's not the roof, as it happens with it open too).

It's embarrassing because due to my usually noisy driving I have absolutely no idea how long it's been happening

Anyway, just wondered if anyone else has experienced this and if so, do you know of a fix?

Not specifically for your squeek, no.

Mine squeeks like a hookers bed. It's got to the point where it is quite annoying, so I have started trying to locate them and so far have been successful using some oil, and foam padding (e.g. on the glove box lid).

Oddly mine has stopped and gone back to being a nice solid unsqueaky dash....not that I'm complaining.
