Lightroom migration help
Discussion
I've been using LR for a while and have a catalogue of about 15,000 photos.
I import my camera files to a windows vista machineto work on them but periodically move them over to my network attached storage (linux host with USB drives) where I have more space and file backup available. My lightroom catalog contains all my photos
I want to move the catalogue from the windows PC onto my new Macbook as I'll be moving to that for all my photography work.
So how do I move the catalogue onto the Mac and retain the links to the photographs that are on the external drive.
Would it be easier to move all the files back on to my Vista hard drive and then export the catalog with the negatives or can I export the catalog and somehow relink the files?
I've got Lightroom 2.7 installed on both machines and I can access the network drive where the photos are stored from my MAC
