I have actually had this a while, just never got round to putting up a thread!

It is my third 200sx! Hmm the phrase glutten for punishment comes to mind!

Decided to go for an import this time, for a few reasons. Firsty no rust! Secondly the amount of kit/bits that they can come with is stupid, I really wish I had got one imported ages ago.

I'm really not keen on the hover-craft esq kit that has come with it, but that can easily be changed. The car wasnt bought based on what it looked like.

All about the swap under the bonnet. smile

(excuse the crappy pics, I forgot to take some when I went to see it!) These are the pics of it before it got shipped whilst it was still over in Japan.

I'm really not to sure on the kit, or on the wheels its on. But I came to the conclusion that I could change that fairly easily futher down the line smile

Specs(some of it is still an unknown/exact parts/models are unknown)

1998 S14a - Kuro Black.
2500cc 1JZ-GTE engine.
Upgraded Turbo (looks to be some sort of hybrid job).
ABC Exclusive Wheels Front 9x18, rear 10x18.
Nismo 2 way LSD.
Nismo Coilovers.
Nissan Skyline R33 GTR Front + Rear Brake Setup (Brembo's).
Greddy Front Mount Intercooler.
Stainless Steel Exhaust.
Upgraded ECU (unknown as to what, it seems to have been either flashed or chipped).
Nismo titanium gear knob.
Greddy A Pillar Pod 2x 60mm Gauges (HKS Jobbies).
Bride Seat + Subframe.
Uras Front Bumper.
Uras Side Skirts.
Uras FRP Front Fenders (25mm I think?).
Uras Rear Bumper.
50mm Rear Overfenders.
Uras FRP Bonnet.
Momo Steering Wheel.
HID's.

The plan is to fit a few bits and pieces I have lying round, get it properlly mapped, and eventually get a bigger turbo on there, the aim is 400bhp + 400 lb-ft of torque, that is useable, keeping lag to a minimum. Change the kit, use it, drive it, track it, drift it, and well just enjoy it. smile

Its not to everyones taste, what do we think? smile

I was planning on changing the kit, but not this quickly!

I was offered a deal I couldnt refuse, so I have a new kit, sitting waiting for me to go and collect.

Here are some pics, of what it looks like on another S14a.

Less hover-craft esq!

Aston Martin DB9 4 Pot Brembo Calipers, 355mm grooved disks, pads, and brackets. Should haul it to a stop fairly nicely.

Erm sort of.

Its the 1JZ, 2.5l straight 6 (came in both single and twin turbo, mine is running a big single turbo convertion) which is out of a Mk3 Supra, and various other Toyota's. Chasers/Cresta's JZX's etc, oh and possibly a few Lexus's as well.

The Mk4 Supra uses the 2JZ which is a 3l straight 6 twin turbo.

I was looking for either an RB converted 200 (Skyline lumps) or a JZ'd converstion.

The Toyota lumps are much stronger out the box, they can go up to 500-600bhp on completely stock interals, whereas the RB's need a bit more work to get there.

RB's tend to rev slightly higher, and deliver the power a bit more evenly, where as the JZ gives it all lower down, and are slightly more torquey.

The gearboxes mated to the JZ's are also bullet proof. The R154 box is near on unbreakable. (Famous last words!)

Basically I wanted reliable fairly high power, minimal lag, and something a bit better sounded than the SR which is normally in 200's.

ah okay, I wasnt sure, I just remember Jesse getting all excited in the Fast and the Furious when the mk4 Supra turned up with a 2JZ engine in it. The new kit does look a tad better than the old one I have to admit. Get some Volks yes

They are similar engines tbh, just the 2JZ having more displacement. Still a blown straight 6, with an awesome soundtrack! smile

Ahh TE37's. I do have a soft spot for them.

Currently I have a set of Nismo LMGT4's on the front, as one of the ABC's that came on it, was buckled.

Unfortunatly they arent wide enough. They are the perfect size for a standard S-body, but as this one is quite alot wider, they need spacing out quite a lot, to get anywhere near the arches, and I dont really want to be running spacers.

So I am looking for some new wheels, and annoyingly they need to be fairly wide, which means big monies. frown

Just to give you an idea, here are the rears atm, and they are 10.5J with a fairly low ofset.

(Also yes I know the car needs lowering a fair bit, but until I can move it over to my garage, its gotta stay at the current ride height, otherwise I cant get it up and down the lane!)

I have these sat in the garage, but again not really wide enough. frown

Eventually when I track some down the right size, I think some Work Meister SSR Professor SP1's will be going on.

I think it's a Border kit.

Deevlash, regarding the TFTF comment, not sure why Jesse made a big deal of that engine as it was a 3.0i 2JZ-GE (n/a) engine.
possibly the same reason he thought a Jetta would beat an s2000 with "a hundred K under the hood" in a drag race hehe

Nice one Rastaman, you've bought a stunner there! Good job you're changing the kit and wheels, they're the only let downs.

How wide could you get some BBS LMs?

That will go like absolute stink I would imagine! I used to have one of the very last Soarers with the 1JZ in it, which was pretty quick. That was probably 300kg heavier than an S14, autobox, and had a totally standard engine (so around 280bhp).

I've always liked the handling and chuckability of the 200SX's, but I never bought one because the standard engines are so anodyne and dull sounding. Your car would be pretty much perfect for me I reckon (although I am old and boring and would probably lose the bodykit entirely!).
