TVR OWNER LOOKING INTO BUYING A NOBLE

I have already looked through the wiki page on her but i wanted owners thoughts into ownership, having owned 2 TVR Griffith's i do have a feeling for handbuilt sportscars of what to expect, which one to have on a budget of 25k....2.5 or the 3.0, what to look for when buying generally good info please...build quality compared to tvr etc etc etc

That's 3 or 3R territory, you would get a very low mileage 2.5 that has probably been garages most of it's life.

I had two Griffs, a Cerb and a Tuscan before my 2 Nobs. Same rules apply, use your head not your heart,take your time,drive plenty, use the search function on here as there's literally loads of thread on the subject. there also some fantastically knowledgeable helpful people on here ( I'm not one of them) who know the cars inside out.
Oh, and when you've got one you'll realise TVRs aren't actually that quick!(on the straights let alone the twisty bits!)

+ 1 do your reseach. I fell in love and handed over money for the first one i looked at. And it cost me £3500 within a couple weeks of owning it. however ive a sorted car now two and a half years later still grinning.

I also came from TVR to Noble. It is quite a difference, the TVR being more about the sound and comfort than out an out pace, (with brakes from the old fords spares box, just as well) The Noble feels like a grown up TVR, doesn't leak when driven in the wet (mine anyway) and starts when you want it to, but most of all is the road presance. Park one next to a Grif or Chim and you will see what I mean. If you buy one, look on Classifieds and buy one from someone you can see has done some upgrades,(red one and turquoise one springs to mind in the 3R guise) or ask. Main ones IMHO:

1) Exhaust and hopefully manifolds (they both crack very easily)
2) Fuel pump and wiring for pump
3) Intercooler (if you want to push it or remap)
4) Stronger valve springs
5) Remap
6) Clutch and gearbox if over 400ish horses

There are others, actuators, hardpipe etc, but really the first two are all you need to improve the car noend HTH and BOL in your hunt
