Ive got an uprated gearbox thanks to Andy feeling the need to off load it in search of more power. I decided to clean it up so i could give it a lick of paint. I was thinking about sand blasting until a mate pointed out that it would mean stipping out the box, so he suggested soda blasting. So i did it at a cost of £80+vat. It came out quite good but i was a bit worried when i realized the soda had got into the diff and reacted with the oil, however i spoke to the gearbox man who assured me that its not a problem and just flushing it through with oil will sort it.
Apparently you could drive your car in to have it blasted and not even have to remove the lights,windows,rubbers or anything really. And the soda wont harm anything just strip the paint! wow i think its the best thing since sliced bread
