Turbos etc reliability

Thinking of getting a used E90 og E60 (tourings) for the summerhouse. Just browsing the classifieds at the moment. Looking like a lot of car for the money!

Had originally planned petrol, dont drive a lot (4.000 miles) but most used are diesels.

How long do the turbos etc (suspension, bushes etc ) TYPICALLY last on a used car? Would a car with 100.000 miles just need to go to the workshops all the time for new this and that ? Would it be smarter looking at a 50.000 miler?

I emphatically hate when something brakes on my cars.
