Here we go...Op No. 3

Hi All,
Some of you may have been following the thread I started here...

Now I have a date for the Spinal Cord Stimulator implant operation, so it's back under the knife for me, for the third time
.
As previously, I'm not desperately keen on the procedure but this time, have high hopes for the outcome. I have a pre-op on Monday 9th August. If that goes OK, I'll be going into hospital on Wednesday the 11th and the op will happen the following day.
I'm looking forward to a laugh or two
with you lot and I'll keep you updated.
Just one little favour...I'll be using my smartphone to keep in touch. If possible, would anyone who posts please avoid using 'quote'. It makes life tricky on the small screen

PS: I've been told I'll be getting the top-of-the-range neurostimulator, which is worth more than my Mini Cooper! How so? I asked for one!

No, not Mr. Smith, it was Mr. Davis.
The update is that the op went well, over the 3 hours or so it took. I've a total of 17 stitches and clips, over two scars, one mid-back about chest level, the other on my right side. There'll be about 18 inches of tunnelled-in wiring between the two op sites.
On the third day on it's decidedly sore but Ibuprofen and Paracetamol are helping.
The internal stimulator is working, albeit on a very basic program. I've to go back on the 23rd to have the stitches/clips out (usually done at the GP's). Then I'll go to the clinic and have the stimulator programmed fully. All I've noticed so far is that I can sit up a bit straighter.
Again, I'll keep you posted.

Not much more to report at this stage. Stitches/clips still pulling (there are in fact 25 in total). That said, healing is evidently under way and the simple program is having a noticeable effect.
I turned the power up a bit for walking around today and I'm happy to be able to stand straighter than I have for five years or so.
More when I've seen the consultant again to be unstitched.

Well, the stitches/clips coming out made me say Owww! There's still some pain/swelling where the stitches (not the clips) were.
On the upside, my device is helping, even on its simplest programme. Standing upright after favouring one side for years is also a bit painful but I'm slowly unkinking.
Only had to charge the box of tricks once so far, which is encouraging. I'm back to hosp on the 15th, to have the full programme established. This should overlay the spine/sciatic pain with the tingling, as well as setting the levels to suit as my posture is detected.
